Do all KAs fit the same.

Ok I am new to the 240 forum. I am mostly over in the z32 parts of the site. I wanna get my wife a 240sx really trying for a s14 but ill take what i can find.


My hope is to find a roller for her really cheap and put an engine in it. Keep in mind I am not worried about power just something the both of us can work on and have fun. I have done some reading and seen that the ka24de and ka24e are in a lot of other cars. I am know the Japanese and North American ones are not 100% the same. What i really wanna know is are all the North American KAs the same so i could throw one from a truck in to a 240 or one from one of the FWD cars.

The Idea is that would would be easy to pickup an engine right now and not have to worry about the drive train of any cars we look at and it opens the option of buying a roller.

You need a KA24 from a 240SX. Best bet is to just stick with a 240SX KA24DE. If you get an S14, it's much easier to start with an S14 KA. If you get an S13, then you can use either the S13 or S14 KA. The FWD KAs are completely different, and the truck KAs are different enough to not be worth the hassle since you can pick up a 240SX KA for cheap.
