Do 4Th Gen Maximas Have Block Heaters?

Hi i have a 96 Maxima and lately it has started getting really cold out at night and is almost impossible to start in the morning. I havent been able to see a block heater cord and am woundering if there even is one? this is my second maxima and didnt notice a cord on the other one when i had it either. so is there on and where is it? Thanks!

To my knowledge that's an aftermarket accessory on ALL cars.

I could be wrong, as it rarely drops below 50 here....

A long time ago I saw some for sale from JC Whitney

I recall you spliced into the radiator hose to install it. Can t rememberif it was the upper or lower

It is aftermarket for most cars. Block heaters are normally used in diesel vehicles. In canada I could maybe see the need. I live in NH and even on the coldest days I rarely have any issues starting my car.

As far as block heaters go. Don't waste your time with ones that go inline with a heater hose or radiator hose. Get one that replaces a freeze plug. That way you'll be heating the liquid in the block and not the hose.
