i know you need to get 17's in order to be able to do the 300zx break conversion, but i wanna know it every 17inch rim will work. i know that some of the 17's and 18's out there barely leave enough room for the caliper. i wouldn't wanna buy expensive rims and not be able to do the swap cause the rims weren't shaped right. that would stink.

Say what? I thought I read on the old forums you could do the 26mm 300ZX brake swap with stock 15" wheels+hubcaps? I thought it was only for the 30mm rotors that you needed to look into swapping your rims . . . and wouldn't that be a matter of offset and not diameter?

ennui, you are correct..offset not diameter. you can use any size rims, just need the proper offset.

15" wheels (the spoke wheels, not the teardrop wheels) will fit with the 300z brakes with a 1/4 spacer or you can grind a little bit off the spoke wheels. We have done both and used them on autoX and track events with no problems. You just have to use a good judgment on how much to grind, it isnt that big a deal.I know all the wheel dealers will have a fit over this, but all I can say, we made it work and never had a failure and we ran a lot of laps.

i found out that all 300zx brakes will work with the 1995 240sx SE 16" rims. even some of the skyline's will apparently. i can't remember what the diameter of them were, but they said they would with no problem.
