do 2011's have lighted steering controls?

Any one driving a 2011 with steering wheel controls? I read someplace they 2011 wheel is lighted, if so i want to buy one, make the lights red, paint the plastic bits, and then get it installed! But the nissan people ive asked had no clue, so i dont want to order a steering wheel that will end up being what i have now.

any info would rock thanks!!

I have an '09 and the controls are lit. I think the '09 and later are lit.

Awesome! is it that ugly amber color? And your S has wheel controls? So it isnt just the SL's? What "package" does that fall in to?

Yes, it's the amber/orange that mathes everything else.

I only have the Technology (which I think is the Power Plus pkg now) that just has cruise control. I didn't want the bluetooth/radio controls.

my 2010 SL with convience package has lights for bluetooth and criuse control in amber.

The leds in those controls are most likely either 0603 surface mounts or 3mm through hole ones. Changing the color is pretty simple for the most part. Remove the old one, put on a new one. Did you see the post I did about the deck color, it shows the 0603 leds used on the deck. They are hella small!

The hard part is getting the steering column apart enough to get to the lights in the first place. There is a hole on the back of each side, which gives crappy access to 2 torx screws on each side.

I want to order a wheel with lights so bad! they make the controls so much easier to use at night, and the more lights the better!

Yeah bring one for me! the lighting itself would only take like an hour, probably less than the time to take it off and put it back on lol. Now painting the plastic parts around the buttons is slower but only because automotive clear coat takes so much longer to cure.
