Ok, I'll browse through the manual sometime today and see what I can come up with. I'll let you know what I find...dnasty88 wrote:in the manual it says that the output needs to be set to subwoofer, and it is now set to rear. the option is grayed out and i cant change it. In the audio setup menu you can turn the subwoofer on and off. however this option is grayed out also. any ideas?
Can you tune anything? Or do you not get any stations at all? I know this will sound stupid, but the antenna plug is seated fully in the head unit, correct?dnasty88 wrote:anywho. now that we got most of the kinks out my problem is tuning stations. i have the blue wire on the antenna adapter hooked up to the power antenna wire on the head unit.
It is relatively simple. There is an adapter that the factory plug connects to. Then, the blue wire needs to be connected to the power wire lead. I would make sure all connections are plugged in fully. Then, try to make sure the connection for the power antenna lead is also in working order. If reviewing these connections doesn't fix the problem, let us know so we can try to work this out further.dnasty88 wrote:umm i didnt do the install so i dont really know. i will tear it out tomorrow and look. i would think it is but i know even an experienced installer can make mistakes. could someone explain to me how to hook up the anteanna adapter though to make sure i did it right?
Sorry, the blue wire on the antenna adapter is connected to the power antenna wire on the wiring harness (the harness that plugs directly into your head unit).dnasty88 wrote:what do you mean to the power wire lead? and soruce of power? or just the wire on the factory harness that says power antenna?
Glad you got it working and glad it was an easy fix! Now enjoy.dnasty88 wrote:i tore it apart today and stuck a coat hanger in the antenna spot and it works. so i figured it was a harness problem. there are two small square connections on the factory harness. the aftermarket one only has one small square thing that is actually the antenna wire. i moved it to location two and it works great.
It could be. A coat hanger certainly should not out perform the actual antenna adapter.dnasty88 wrote:actually im getting some static still its not normal. when i had the coat hanger hooked up there was no static at all. think its a bad adapter?
