For those who wanted to know how the doc's custom kickplates look when installed and were asking for some more pics/vids-- this thread is for you.

Crappy camera phone quality video @ night:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7RJ0t3b-5c

Pictures:

Night closeup

Night Closeup 2

Night further back

Day closeup of my edging work (sealed edge of plastic base with black sealant for enhanced waterproofing) Blends right in with the kickplate trim IMHO.

Day further back

Day full interior

Map lights replaced with LEDs

Map lights from further back

And, as a sneak peak...

My new Kuhmo Ecsta LX Platinum All Season's in 245/40ZR19 sitting in my garage (go on next week when I get my hubcentric rings)

And of course, here are my new 19" KONIG Troubles (And Blake, remember that imitation is the best form of flattery)

KONIG Troubles 19x8 +30 Offset, Graphite

Oh and this one is for LBC-- this is the $7.46 Chair I got from OfficeDepot a week or so ago (gotta love slickdeals)

I also took a few pictures of the process I went through to seal the kickplates up. Those are on the gf's camera and she's currently in NY, so, those will be posted when she returns.

That's not what the reviews say on tirerack.com I needed all seasons and it was between these and Michelins. The Michelins were $80 more a tire. If I don't like these, I'll try those after I wear these suckers out.

Eh, just saying, I had ecsta's all weather on my eclipse. They had horrrribleee snow/wet traction. They also wore out in about 12,000 miles of spirited driving. Remember, you get what you pay for Nice looking wheels tho!

I hope they fit good too-- I'm confident they will, except I'm a tad worried about the aggressive offset and if I'll rub the outer wheel trim on big bumps. Yeah, should help with the smaller potholes, that's for sure! Thanks for all the help in the Will my wheels fit thread!

Thanks for the heads up. A few buddies of mine around here have them and they said they lasted a long time. I figure try these suckers and if no luck, at least I'll have a better idea for what sizing and brand I want to go with after these wear out. On another note, wait until I get my stillen fascia and rockers on-- we'll look like brothers -- except you'll have the pimp turbo! Again, can't wait for the dyno, regardless of what the results!

The LEDs look really cool. You get them at a local supply or somewhere special?

I got them as a kit here:http://www.ijdmtoy.com/webpage...G.htmBut honestly I don't recommend them. They sent 3/4 of what I ordered and I had to email them 3 times and then call them to get the last of my shipment. Not only that, but the LEDs they send you for the center-backseat light is fairly weak and the courtesy LEDs are aimed straight ahead and they install sideways so instead of shining down, they shine sideways. I'll end up finding cheap replacement LEDs somewhere local eventually. They still light up the ground fairly well, but not nearly as much as a sideshining LED. Head over to the Interior/Exterior Lightning Sub Forum for more info on what folks recommend. Search LED and you'll get a ton of good info. And of course, let me know if you have any more questions.

DJ Maxentropy, your email is hidden, can you email me and let me know how you fixed your kickplates, mine are currently having the same problems you did. One of them seperated because my word was too long.

Thanks. Yeah, it's a nice chair.

Sorry about the lack of photos on the sealing job I performed on these. My gf is back from NY but her camera's USB cord is MIA-- gonna have to find one laying around somewhere since her memory card is CompactFlash and doesn't fit in any of my readers.

Sorry Azure, haven't been able to find the USB cords

How to seal Doc Feelgood's kickplates and make em look even sexier:

You will need:-Permatex 81158 #16B Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Tube of super glue-Razorblade-Toothpicks or skewers-Old newspaper or papertowels

1) Use the razorblade to remove the excess silicone and slowly pry up the plexiglass/carbon fiber top off of the plastic kickplate base.

2) Remove any and all excess silicone by rubbing your fingers over it (it will rub right off).

3) Lay down old newspaper or towel so you do not get the silicone or super glue on anything you don't want it on.

4) If the colored light is not completely sealed to the plastic base plate, use the super glue (underneath only-- do not get any on top of the colored lightstrip). Careful you do not over do the super glue!

5) Allow that to sit for a few minutes.

6) Take Permatex 16B Black Silicone Sealant and begin to carefully fill the black plastic kickplate base edge gap. Do one entire length at a time. This is so it does not set too quickly.

7) Take your toothpicks (I used a skewer) and use it to ensure there are no airbubbles and that the silicone creates a nice seal in the gap. (I filled mine to the top so it was level with the surface. Wipe off excess silicone on the newspaper or papertowel and continue to ensure a solid seal along that side.

8) Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the other side as well as the edges.

9) Allow to sit for about 5-10 minutes.

10) Squirt a strip/blob of the Permatex 16B Silicon along the center of the plastic base of the kickplates, without getting too close to the colored lightstrip.

11) Firmly place the plexiglass/carbon fiber top down onto the kickplate plastic base and center it as necessary. Use a napkin, papertowel, or finger to remove excess silicone.

12) Use vices, textbooks, or in my case-- soupcans on the back of the kickplates to apply pressure. If you are using a vice-- be very careful not to tighten too much. Soupcans worked great as it was the right amount of pressure on the back of the kickplates to allow the silicone to completely set.

13) Allow to sit for 12-24 hours. You are then good to go. Touch up the edges of the kickplates with silicone if you missed any spots.
