Saw one like this elsewhere and decided to follow suit. I bought a $6.00 stainless steel pot from Wal-Mart. Used a spare turbine housing to mock-up, cut it out, bolted on.

It needs a bit of refinement, which I'll do tonight or tomorrow, but it's a good start!

pots are made of steel or such because its a good conductor for cooking...are you sure you want to use it for a heat shield?

Well, on the first test drive, complete with spirited driving, I was able to touch the brake master cylinder and strut tower. This tells me it's doing it's job. It's not so much an issue of being a total thermal barrier as it is a hot-air deflector.

nice cheap job though...maybe some cheap heat paint might also help protect the MC?

Like on the inside of the turbo shield?

I currently have some heat deflection material wrapped around the MC and the lines from it.
