Has anyone madea CAI for 2007 350z using Spectre Performance parts? Does anyone know anything about this company or how well they work? Any info would be great. Thanks to all who reply.

Well I used to work at a pepboys and we had all kinds of spectre stuff in. For the piping and all the rubber boots and such it would probably work fine but I would not use one of their air filters.

Doesn't seem like anyone has made their own yet, so go ahead and be the first........but check with dealer first on it voiding warranty.

Thanks. I don't see why it would void warranty since it's a CAI, but I'll definatley check. As for the filter I figured on using and AMSOIL conical filter, I would just need to make measurements to figure out which size I need or use a filter from AEM or aFe. I also thought about retaining the stock air box and drop in a TrueFlow filters and just changing the stock modular intake tubes to the Spectre for better air flow.

first off...(and this is only my opinion) DO NOT put any engine performance parts that you can find in pepboys in your z... maybe k&n as an exception...second, I believe that putting an intake system on your z, whether its a cai or ram will void your engine warranty with the exception of dealer installed items (nismo parts that they themselves installed). I asked my dealer the same things not so long ago. They said that engine mods can void your drivetrain warranty, suspension mods can void your suspension warranty and so on. I would go to the dealer who sold you that warranty and ask them yourself before doing anything. It won't hurt to ask. It would really suck to unknowingly lose a warranty. By the way...a good place to look for good parts, if you decide to go that way, is hopupracing.com or thenismoshop.com....good luck!

He was only going to use piping. It doesn't matter what brand your piping is lol. Piping is piping.

I've always thought that volumetric measurements, bends, type of material, and pipe lengths plays a big role in an intake performance, which is, somewhat also brand specific for that matter. Isn't that why injen makes a different pipe than k&n or fujitsobo and, so on? then again I could've also been misinformed.

I agree w/ xjmxstac...If it was just piping, it would all be exactly the same with different stickers on it & all be on e-bay for $13.90 + shipping.

yeah but when you are on a budget it is a lot easier to spend $40 on piping and then $50-$60 on the cone filter, than it is to spend $220-$300 on a complete system.

I honestly don't think that the 1-2hp more you would maybe get from buying a complete set is worth $120-$200, especially if you are on a budget.

Now me personally. I will go with a complete set because I like being able to read their actual dyno sheets and get a general idea of what I should expect. Plus I have a lot of respect for some of the name brands out there.

I tired the spectra tubes and filters for my 07 Z before any aftermarket intakes were available. I have pictures on car domain http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2597965. To get the right angle I used tubes for a 92-95 Honda Civic. The first attempt with the spectra tubes caused idling problems because the tube diameter is to large for the air sensors. I ended up purchasing Stillen's dual intakes but still using the upper spectra bend and tube for looks. The kit works great, no problems. I will probably purchase Stillen's long tubes now that they are available because I am always embarrassed to say I bought the long tubes from AutoZone

even cheaper....make your own with a couple of u-bend pipes, cut em, put a couple of breather ports and tig weld em... i did it to my 00 tacoma... cost me 10 bucks +cone. no performance out of it tho...just cool noise when i turned my engine off. I eventually slapped a k&n fipk on it. Ebay might be a better ideal tho if your tryin to save money...it would be sad to put cheap parts on a z...My honest opinion, save your money to get better parts!

Thanks to all who replied. It was just a thought. I really like the air box from Stillen but didn't like that they didn't replace the tubes and I like the AEM and Nismo but I'd rather have an airbox to keep out more hot air. I was basically trying to figure out how to combine the two to have an air box and better tubing. It was just a thought. It was mentioned that Stillen now has tubes and I was not aware of that new product so I will be looking into that. Again thanks to all that replied.
