That's not a ridiculous range or anything...

That much snow will destroy your plow.

So I went to home depot today and talked with a couple of workers there and designed a rear plow. The plow will drag behind the car in a V formation, attached via chain to the trailer hitch. There will be two 2x6's attached together on each side of the V, along with a metal blade along the bottom,

LMAO Home Depot employees are trained to feed you bulls*** as long as you keep piling your shopping cart with merchandise. Only a small percentage of the workers have a clue as to what home improvement is.

But I agree with -]sTm[-HeavyHips, give us a pic.

As requested here is a pic of one side. It weighs at least 50 lbs with the block on it. I will have two of these in a V formation.First of all my workshop :0Each piece of 2x6 is bolted together using 6 bolts (bolt heads are on the other side).

Why would you do a pull behind design?

That means you have to drive through the snow to plow it.

Yes, but you don't have a massive 4wd truck with snow tires...

So now, to plow an area you have to first be able to drive through it... In which case you could have just driven through it in the first place.

I drove the Qx4 in over 2 feet of snow and it never got stuck. That was up a hill btw. My driveway is a huge hill so I will drive up from the bottom, incase the plow goes under my rear wheels. I finished it btw, I just need to brace it. It weighs around 100 pounds and is strong as f***.

I just want to throw this out there since apparently no one else has...

Nala you are aware that you are by chance ruining any chance of a successful life right, I mean most major employers and even a lot of major colleges do a full background on you, why do you think the news keeps telling everyone to watch what they post on social websites or the internet in general? It's not for the hell of it, it's to inform you as a future student and/or employee about what you say and/or do has a habit of following you more now than it ever has in the past.

Edit:Google yourself, you have said a ton of stupid crap on Facebook... I take that back, Everyone google Stephen Sett (can't be mad, you're name is in your public profile on here.)

I didn't say get one, I said learn to use it.It will surprisingly still work on wood, even if home depo cuts it first.

Its going to break. Again. Make the angle between the two pieces of wood bigger, and brace the ends, probably with chains that mount to the hitch. By mounting the hooks on top of the plow with chains instead of a fixed rod, when under stress, the plow is going to try to tilt forward, but it cant because of the shape. This is going to stress the ends up the plow. This, combined with the sharp angle you have used that will trap snow instead of push it away, and the cinder blocks that you have mounted on the end, will break your plow. Remember, this is not steel, this is wood. Its going to want to bend.

And it looks like you can only plow about 4 inches of snow with that.

ALWAYS sketch something before you go out and make it. It will save you time, money and resources. So when you sketch something and post it on nico, we can all tell you it will fail from the get go BEFORE you go out and waste money.

For the joint between the two pieces I would use a piece of 3" angle iron.

Every dozer, bucket, plow, etc. that I've ever seen that was intended to move dirt, snow, or babies around always seemed to have more frontal area than your 2x6 plow does.

Ok, apparently no one is getting through to our resident space cadet, if you f*** up your vehicle because you didn't listen to anyone I don't want to see a "wah I broked my vehicle trying to snowplow" thread, I will flame you mercilessly and may even be forced to drive up to your town to kick the crap out of you for being stupid. For the money you are wasting on on trying to build a snow-plow you could have bought a used one for cheap or hired Handy Manny to come and plow your driveway.

If you are really intent on doing it yourself go buy one for an ATV (I'm sure your spoiled a** has one of those in your driveway), they are 1/4 of the price of a full size plow, and get the job done just as well, and in fact are more suited to driveways and sidewalks.

These plows that you see that you drag behind aren't intended for snow, they are actually intended to level off dirt for paving, masonry, and sports field purposes. I guarantee that if you use that thing that you built on anything more than 2" of snow it won't work, and with 2" off snow even I can drive through that with my 240 and it's bald a** back tires.

it would hurt the qx4 by you sliding on snow into a jeep liberty. you need hook attachments on the end because by pulling from the center, you are over stressing the ends of the "plow" and since its a chain, its going to want to tilt. Adding mounting points to the end points will lessen this effect.

W/e you're not going to listen. Have fun breaking things and crashing.
