DIY shift kit?Safe?

Hey I was reading the Faq's on the 240sx.org page and it talks about a do it your self shift kit for an auto 240. And unforutanetly I am stuck with auto transmission untill I can convince my parents that I can shift and still concentrate on the road or some crap like that. Anyways it talks about the little grey box above the drivers side wheel well under the hood and it says if you disconnect the "resistor" it allows your car to shift faster and "harder". The guy talks about how it was put there to give a more comfortable ride but can easily be taken off to allow the transmission to shift harder. Is this good on your transmission? Or a bad idea.

it's wrong, it is known to NOT improve times at the track, it just "feels" like it's faster cuz it's rougher

it is rougher I did it to my auto for a while and actually my car never chirped in second ... and after i did that it did chirp in second if I pushed it a little bit ... but I'm sure this is because it doesnt regulate itself to make shifting comfortable.... I noticed a bit of an increase in response when I did it....

but I do NOT know if it is safe because I only did it for a short period of time.

transmissions work off of line pressure. It is just letting the transmission build up so much pressure that the shifts are harder. Faster shifts, how would it not be any faster int he 1/4?

although i can understand it being dangerous to your car. Just buy a performance valve body and torque converer and you will be just as fast as the 5 speeds.
