and I was wondering are the latches metal? just don't seem strong enough it they were plastic, but hey they work. I would do these over the normal ones, you don't have a locking pin rattling on the hood. plus anodized ones fade over time

The latches are plastic - very strong. I've been using them frequently ever since 2006 when I first posted about them.

The only issue is the sticking that Greg mentioned above (which I also believe I mention somewhere on one of these pages).

I have found that spray on lithium grease works a lot better than wd40.
