if you look at your Verts quarter window about 2/3 of its base down you'll see the black border or trim, not sure what its called, but it continues all the way around the base of the rag top and ends on the other quarter windowl. I can see that its in 3 pieces. Also I see there are a few screw holes, but does anyone know how to get it off? where are the removal spots. Plus any advice on a DIY fixer ideas. I'd like to keep it black, but its pretty faded and some chips and scratches need attention. any and all help would be awesome. thanks.

Thats a PITA to remove.

1. Put your top down.2. Get a small philips screw driver as short as possible.3. Im to lazy to go across the street and take pics, but there are about 5 to 6 screws on the back side between the top and the inner rear fender, the first two are hard, you either have to take out your quarter window, or find a way to move around it to get to those.4. The rear is a little more simple, just open and close the deck lid to get to the 6 screws.5. I think there is 1 more per side piece under those that holds down the rear bar, all pieces are held on by DBL sided sticky tape.6. DONT MISPLACE THOSE SCREWS!! They are very small and hard to find. And hard to replace!!

If that doesnt get it off for ya, let me know ill go take pics!

its on the back side of the black pieces. its to hold it tight to the quarter. there are may ways to get it off, just simply pull the piece towards you with both hands and roll it on the fender, that is how i did it. might jack up your paint, but i was redoing the paint anyway so it didnt matter to me. when your done, i would clean it all off and put new back on, keeps the noise down on them when the top is down. if you dont you will heard tick from it not being tight.

How about the trim that goes under that piece? Mine is all wavy and falling out.

can it be replaced, or should I just glue it up under there

what piece are we talking about? the plastic door sill? that makes sure the water runs down the window correctly? or the seal on the rear?

It's a thin seal just below the pic OP posted. I don't see it in his pics though.

Maybe I shouldn't have it? Or it is supposed to be up under the seal (sealing) and fell below?

I has pixors for you

Here I am pulling it out:

Here you can see where it ends:

didnt have one on mine. only thing i know of that looks like that is up by the window. that piece is what holds the seal and pushes it towards the quarter window to try, key word "try" to keep rain out of the in side of the car.

Did you see my ninja edit? It doesn't seem to be needed for keeping any water out. If I can just rid it, that would be great? It looks like crap

wow on the ninja edit while i was posting, that is the plastic piece that keeps the bottom of the plate snug to the body. keeps water out and sort of prevents rust. keep it. its important and ill bet you cant get another one. lol and yes its suposta be flush with the edge of the piece.

LOL. It completely failed at preventing rust. Got it on both quarters around there. It's really worn out; wavy and sagging. I'm thinking if I get rid of it and keep it out of the wintry weather which I'm already doing i'll be fine.Right?

i had it too and mine was sagging, also. I just pulled mine off and tossed them.

Instead of that, I put some hefty double sided tape on there and sealed it tight to the quarter. Works fine so far.

I kid I kid, I don't mean a thing by it.

Imma crash though, I'll be patiently awaiting your thread about 'the flushness'
