I know a lot of people ask about this from time to time and about flat black paint jobs. I just found this information and figured I should share it with Nico.

These guys are painting a Jeep and I don't really care for his design but you should get the idea.http://www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/cheap_paint/

dude, thats friken awsome. He even used newspaper to save money hahaha. I was reading it more and saw the paint wasn't even designed for automobiles. Garage doors, wheel barels, boats, engines. Heck, if its all that then why not cars

Yeah really. I'm thinking about doing this but I'm really afraid of how long it would take to do it right since I'm getting rather impatient about being able to drive my 240.

Here's some more stuff... once again intended for the 4x4's.http://4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/body/

Well, I have another car but I really want to drive the 240. I drove it from the barn to the drive way a couple of day ago for the first time in 3 years. Best feeling ever; it's so stiff and responsive.

It makes my Z3 feel like a truck and I haven't gotten the front end finished yet because I needed to be able to turn it around for ease of getting to the TC rods. It still has the stock cracked bushings up there.

I'm in the country about an hour south of the DFW metroplex. We have a stock farm of about 350 acres.

this is pretty cool. I had actually thought of using polyurethane (used for wood mainly) as a clear coat. The thing can be sanded to a mirror finish, and it's used to seal boats, so I know it's water resistant. Who knows, the fc I'm working on may get this 80 dollar paintjob, granted w/a lot more sanding involved.

Do they only use polyurethane on wooden boats or is it used on fiberglass hulls as well?

Heh, my 240 is going to be a track and autocross slut as well as a semi-daily driver so I only want it to look nice. No fabulous car show finish here. However, I don't want it ghetto looking either.

Anyone know if dark colors or light colors are easier to spray smoothly? Or does it just not matter?

Need to find a place that isn't crime horrid like the entire west side of the united states. Live in phx yay car stolen. Live in california get shot. Live in nevada get murdered. Move to oregon get bored.... hhahahaha

but on a serious note. I dunno plano hasn't ever had negative feelings from the people. House costs aren't to bad and pay is good. I can't live up here, lack of education. Plus i don't like rocks hitting my windshield every 30min. This summer im going to use my vaction and visit there looking for work.
