What were you looking for??

An oil change is wicked simple. I'm pretty sure your truck should have a Q6 engine, unless you got the 8, but if you got the 6 the drain plug is at the bottom of the engine near the back. The filter is on the passenger side of the engine behind the wheel well flashing. I should just be able to be pulled up, I don't think there is a clip holding it in place, and provide easy access to the filter. Annoyingly though that means you need to use a jack and stands instead of a set of ramps. I did my 06 MO long enough I don't remember the filter size off hand but any auto parts store will have a catalog. Again, if it's the 6 cylinder, it'll take 4 liters of oil including the bit you put into the filter before attaching it.

Send me an email if you have other question, though I've never messed with the 8. I just don't have the income to support that kind of fuel consumption.

The biggest headache is removing the black plastic shield covering the bottom of the engine. Unless they changed it, there are about 15 bolt you have to remove to get to the engine.
After that the rest is quite basic.

Remember the Nissan Warranty requires LEGAL documented evidence [from some business any business ] that the 180 day [7499.9 miles] max oil change interval has not been exceeded.

Many people try to fake up documents instead and get caught.

The other thing is the requirement that the owner check oil level periodically to avoid running more than 1 quart low between oil changes.

Don't ever bring it in for service below 1 quart low or it will be documented on vehicles permanent record.

Do most of the Models (Infiniti) have something like an Oil Life Service monitor, or is it simply a time/mileage item the owner watches ?

The owners manual Recommends 90 days and or 3750 miles if you desire maximum engine life after warranty expires. The written warranty is very specific about how you lose coverage from abuse and disregarding intervals.

I got a hold of a 2009 owner's manual on the FX50 and read through the maintenance portion. So it appears there's no OLS on the vehicle and I'm guessing the 3750 interval you posted means it comes from the factory with non-synthetic oil ? How does Nissan/Infiniti feel about switching to a synthetic after the first oil change ?

As a new FX owner why would you be so cheap to not pay for dealer documented oil changes?

Because I want to be sure that the best oils, not the cheapest, are being used whenever available. By the best, I mean the highest quality, cleanest, and corresponding to the existing condition of the engine. In addition, I do not want to pay dealer prices for special oils when I determine the necessity.

I live about 40 miles from Infiniti dealer and only 15 from a Nissan dealer. I take my FX37 to the Nissan dealer if it is only an oil change and take my own synthetic oil for them to use. That way , they stamp my Maintenance book and I;m on my way. It is also cheaper to have work done at the Nissan dealer. I even had them change the cabin air filter on my car during the last change. On major maintenance I go to the Infiniti dealer.
