Sorry if this seems obvious but now that I've done it I'd like to pass along how easy it is.
This is for a DIY boost controll - the type that allows you to lengthen or shorten the shaft of your internal WG actuator.
All you need is a hack saw or Dremmel, a pair ov Vice Grips or a vice and an inexpensive tap and die set.
1) Cut shaft near the middle. Now cut a bit more for play ~ 1/4" should do.
2) Take free end to hardware store and compare to some non-threaded stock rod for size. Be aware that the threading will make it look a lot smaller - I mean a LOT smaller. The non-thread match is your correct size. My Garrett/Ford super 60 used a 1/4 X 20 course thread. Buy the correct size barrell connector and two nuts to use as stop nuts.
3) Now just clamp your rod and slowly begin to thread applying pressure untill the rod is 3/4 through the die. Turn about 1 turn & back off 1/4 turn to clear shavings. Do this untill you have about 1" of thread on each rod.
4) Now just put everything together and you will have an adjustable actuator arm.
I'm sure tons of people have thought of this and many have been frightened to try it. It really is a piece of cake. Good luck.
