Frist off this is in a 89 240SX Fastback. Its very easy to do and requires NO wireing skills at all. Ive done this twice in my car so i know it works. I will type this up step by step the best i can. Please excuse any typos or misspellings.

TOOLS: -Phillips head screwdriver(small and medium one)-Socket wrench (1/4in works best)-10mm and 12mm sockets

PARTS:-HUD cluster (id make sure it works before doing this)-HUD cluster wireing harness

-Step one: Starting the jobRemove the bottom of the dash. There is 7 10mm bolts holding it in. You can see 6of them, the 7th one is hidden under the drivers kick panel. For some you may have a footwell light (coupes only i think).

-Step two: Getting close to the clusterRemove the covers overthe steering coloum. There are 6 or 7 phillips screws holding it together. Once the bottom is off you need to drop the steering coluum by looseing the 2 12mm bolts holding it in. DONT REMOVE THE BACK NUTS! JUST THE FRONT TWO!

-Step Three: Getting to the closer clusterRemoving the cluster cover. This has 2 phillips screws at the top above the cluster(you can see the 2 holes). You need to pull the bottom loose frist and unhook all the switches. Then VERY EASY pull down the cover(you will see why you lowered the steering coloum before).

-Step Four: Removeing the old ClusterNow you can see the cluster. It has 3 screws holding it in, 1 at the top and 2 at the bottom. Once it is out there is a wireing harness that you must remove. Follow the harness to where it connects into the dash harness. This will be a white plug that you can see and a black on thats a bit tough to get to. Unplug these and pull it out.

-Step Five: Installing the HUD cluster.Take the wireing harness that came with your HUD cluster and hook it where the old harness came from. From here you can install the projector if you want, but you must remove the dash and cut a hole in it. Im not going into that right now.

-Step Six: Putting it back togetherThis is pretty much just reverse of what you just did. Its not that hard.

Now for my warnings:Check the cluster to see if it works before putting the dash back together. this is done by turning the key on and if it comes up to zero then its working. If it doesnt work check your wire plugs. If they are fine check the audio fuse. It seems to control the HUD cluster too. If that didnt work, well then youve got me go ahead and put your old one back in.

AIM me if you need any extra info on this [email protected] (thats my aim name too)

PS: could a mod sticky this or something?
