HID INSTALLATION WITHOUT BUMPER REMOVAL

Skill level- 3/5

Tools needed: 1. Philips Screwdriver 2. Flat-head Screwdriver 3. Zip Ties (Atleast 7 inches long) 4. Electrical Tape (If you have the xentec kit) 5. Your HID Kit ( Xentec or other slim or fat kit) 6. Jack and lug wrench 7. Wheel lock remover

1.First start by getting your jack and lug nut wrench from your trunk under the carpet.

*Make sure the car is in gear or P for CVT and the handbrake is up*

2.Second , using the lug wrench it also acts as a tool to make the jack raise the car. Make sure you put the jack on the lift point under the car its a silver metal part with two small holes near it.

3.Once the car is raised enough that the tire is off the ground use the lug wrench to take the lug nuts off by turning them counter clock wise in a star pattern.* Use the wheel lock remover usually located in the glove box to remove the wheel lock *

-Wheel lock remover and wheel lock nut-

4.Next once the wheel is off put it face up out of the way, Next locate the three screws and one clip under the front bumper.

5.Now Remove the other 5 clips inside the wheel well, then one piece of the wheel well lining should come off its a small piece attached to the main lining. [SEE BELOW PIC ]

6.Next pull back the main lining located to the front of the wheel well, it needs to come out of the edge of the body panel thats holding it in. It will only come out so far so basically it will bend back, bend it back so it touches your caliber and rotors and put something to hold it back ( I used the lug wrench by putting the heavy side in the end hole of the lining).

Now while its held back locate the stock bulb

7.Remove the stock bulb by disconnecting the factory harness from it and turning it counter clockwise to remove it.

8.Put the Stock bulb aside and be careful to not touch it. Get your hid kit and only take the hid bulb out of the kit and put it into the headlight and turn clockwise to lock it in **Again be careful not to touch it**

After that is complete you should have a red and blue or two different colored wires that match two wires on the HID ballast.

9.Connect the bulb to the ballast and the ballast should have another wire that connects to the factory harness ( the factory harness powers the ballast)

_________________________________________________________***Note*** If your kit came with the prongs on the ballast out and not in a harness piece plug them into the factory harness directly and electrical tape it really good so its weather proof. For some reason the prongs are too far apart with xentec and some kits so it wont plug into the factory harness and its just easier to plug the prongs in, if theyre already in the black piece you make have to crack it open like me and take the piece off to expose the prongs***

After making all the connections it should look like this

Find the support beam under the headlight. Its a large black metal piece

10. Zip tie the ballast to the support beam

Your done!!!!

Now make sure its all secure and the ballast wont move, tuck the wires away or zip tie them aswell to the support beam.

11.Then make sure the little white pieces on the wheel lining are on right and then carefully tuck the wheel lining back under the bumper and make sure the screw holes line up. Now Screw the 3 screws back in and put the 8 clips back into place.

12.Put the wheel back on and tighten the wheel lug nuts finger tight in the star pattern (See Diagram ). Lowerer the car to the ground and then tighten the lug nuts using the lug wrench by turning it clockwise ( Make sure you use full force so their completely tight) Do this in the same star pattern and use the wheel lock remover to tighten the wheel lock nut back on.

Your done, you now have HIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**Repeat process for the other side**

Oh if your hid kit comes with these little black pieces

***DO NOT put them on the prongs because with our factory harness for the altima coupe the xentec and most hid kits have too big a space inbetween the prongs you may have to depending on your kit (and its just easier ) to plug the prongs into the factory harness and electrical tape it. If your kit came already with the prongs inside a black piece otherwise known as a harness and it does not fit into the factory harness you'll have to crack it and remove the black piece so the prongs can be put into the factory harness**

!ENJOY YOUR NEW HIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heres the finished product, my camera caught the glare everytime but theylook amazing and complete the car- Worth every penny!!!

Nice, but when doing major installation work you should never just rely on a jack to hold the car up. Should have definately used some stands there.

I used that plug without any problems.

I also didnt know that people were removing their headlights to install their HIDS?

Sounds good lol i was just trying to help out maybe this could be put in the how to section cause i felt like the other hid DIY was a little vague and didnt have solutions to problems one would run into.

I think this thread will help you the most out of all of them.

....but I'm biased
