DIY Grounding Kit

Ok, so ive been reading up on grounding kits for a while now, and looking at some posts and most people seem to say that DIY is the way to go with these.. I finally have time now that its summer so this is something i want to do, even if the gains are minimal for now, if i ever decide to upgrade my stereo or electronics then it would be nice to have and since i have the time it cant hurt.. What i was wondering is,
1) Does anyone have a parts list for how much of / what size of everything i would need?
2) How would i connect each connector ring to the wire?
3) how many wires should i go with 5,6 or 7?
4) What are the ground points i should make sure to hit..?
5) Any other info i should know/ be careful of, from anyone who knows what their doing or has done this before?

Thanks in advance, hopefully i can do this some point this week, and work on some cool LED installs and get some pics up..
