anyone know what parts are cleaned in a standard fuel system cleaning? Im guessing replace fuel filter, clean injectors, clean throttle body, clean IACV. anyone know how to go about cleaning those parts? what type of cleaner should i use, how? etc.? i really dont want to pay 70 - 100 bucks if i can do it myself. thanx.

Seafoam works but be sure to do it correctly. I have seen people do it through the wrong vacuums and mess things up.

injector cleaning is NOT something you are encouraged to do yourself. replacing your fuel filter is easy. throttle body can be cleaned with brake cleaner, as can the iacv.

some places will run "Fuel System Cleaner" additives through your car. I personally have NEVER had good luck with this, in fact it caused 3x of my injectors to stop working. Bastards.

anyways, stay away from all in one bottle solutions and you should be good to go. it aint rocket science, after all.
