I just looked into these last week. I was going to order one, but determined I have a mechanical problem, so I'm getting a new engine instead.

They have/had some in stock. I emailed to verify. A pretty good deal for what it allows you to do if you ask me. If you expect to own supported Nissans for a long time, it'd be a great investment.

You order the unit from them and they send you an email attachment with software. 1.8MB IIRC.

Just an additional FYI:

1. You can build a Consult connector box on your own. I have one, and absolutely love it.

2. There is freeware called Consultan that can be used to monitor all the signals that go through the Consult port. Available in both PC and Mac OS X versions. Has the ability to log sensors.

If you hit http://www.sr20forum.com and look in the Tech-Geek-ECU-ROM forum, all instructions for building your own box and links to Consultan are in there.

As for a piece of software that would allow you to log a wideband in addtion....I'm sorry, I've never heard of one. Wish I could be of more help.

First off, lose the attitude and I'm sure one of the many tech guys on NICO will be more then happy to assist you.

As for your first post and the title of the thread are concerned. Initially you simply copy/pasted some info from another web page. Thats all...no relation to a DIY anywhere. Not until later did you connect the dots. The first post also came across looking like an advertisment for somthing, hence the other Mods post. Since advertising is a no no unless you are a sponsor.

Treat other with a tad more respect and you'll be surprised how much more help you recieve in return.

So who has bought one?

What are you impressions about it?

Its all good.I have been racking my brain as of recent.I am getting a crash course in programming from one of my seargents and let me tell you all the info hurts. To get it to work one more wire would be needed coming from the lc-1 to the consult box. From there it's all software.I need a seperate channel that the software can read (max 5v).If i can get this down the world is mine..........

calmsult is created using Labview. You can only read the code using their software.I tried using a Dev C++ compiler it didnt work.So i had to open up the individual files using notepad.!56 thousand lines of code later i seen a copyright listed for labview.Googled it and what they make is virtual instruments so i'll download a demo. All demos can be hacked

Calum Johnson (of Calumsult, etc.) posted two days ago on SR20forum.com that he is working on a daughterboard that will add on an additional input (like the one you're looking for) that would be perfect for a wideband setup. He's also working on adding USB connectivity, etc., between a laptop and the Consult port. Pretty cool stuff. If you get a minute, head over to SR20forum.com and look in the Tech/Geek/Programming forum and read his latest "improvements".

I can answer all your questions regarding these CONSULT devices. I have available fully assembled serial versions, and designed my own USB version as well(also available). Just as that ebay link above, they include the OEM DDL connector, so no wiring neccessary. I sell them for $80 SHIPPED, and they are designed, assembled, tested, and supported in the USA. They are absolutely no different than the ones above, except price and minor design differences.

Regarding the temperature change: yes it is correct you can 'change' your temperature... what you are doing is fooling the ECU into thinking it is at a different temp, that's all. This is to test, say the auto-cooling fan for instance.

Also you can change you ignition advance while running, change how much your idle air valve is open, etc, etc. Great tool. Email me for more info.

Cheers,Jamie
