im looking online through all the diy cai ppl have been making. ive noticed one thing tho, my '95 j30(along with all the others) has 2 inlets for the air. basically, it goes from the air box, through the maf, then splits into two tubes, which 1 kinda zig zag a bit, before reaching the throttle body. if i was to just use pvc pipes, would i be able to create two "straight" tubes that connect to the maf sensor, then have it snake down to a cone filter?? or is it best to leave the current air ducts in tact, then add onto that??

Mediatate on why and how the engineers persuaded the accountants to allow them to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to design the oem intake.

Measure the stock resistance to air flow [in inches of water column] and decide if a<1% improvement is worth the noise and problems.

notice that even the twin turbo V6 uses a very similar intake setup...

Short story: dont mess with it, it wont gain you anything. You're probably better off replacing the exhaust.
