The pink pieces were painted with Rustoleum paint. They are not outside the car so they shouldn't chip.

Thats bad a**! I dont know if I will ever change the fabric, I like the stock fabric, but I do love to customize all my stuff, and you are right, this car makes it so easy!

Thanks! I was bored of the stock interior. This really makes the car more girly now.

I like that you added more chrome to the front instead of blacking it out like a lot of people do, I dont know which way to go, I will probably wait and see which would look better after I tear it down and paint the body the way I want.

Thanks. I, unlike a lot of people, actually love chrome :)

Lol. Ya it was one of the features I had to have. I use the sunroof almost every day.

Bronze colored items might look good with the red. You said your painting your Versa?

Yeah, eventually. Red really isnt my color, but I will leave the main color red, because I dont want to go through the hassle of painting the sills and such, but I am going to either be adding black or grey. Plus all my interior lighting is red, Id hate to have to rebuild all my led boards when I could use that time for something new.

Why did you buy a red one then?

Adding black or grey would look good since your wheels are dark.

Well, the red one had the options IP wanted, it was the only SL they had, but the stock colors are only red, blue, black, white, silver, and brown anyway. If I had had more options I would have either went with black or blue, if they made green, then probably green, maybe yellow, see im just color fickle lol. I do like this red, when next to a lot of other red cars, they look kind of orange in comparison, this red is strong. :)

black or grey would be the simple way to go, they would cover the red nicely without lots of coats. Also, when I paint I like to use additives, so maybe some pearl or metal flake, i dont know yet but its going to look sharp!

I've painted a lot of plastic parts over the past 6-7 years, and still to this day I will only use Krylon Fusion paints. They dry quickly, and the end results look fantastic as long as you know how to spray paint properly. I just used it to make some DIY eyelids for my V earlier this week :)

Hi, I'm new to the forum. This is a really great idea! I just got fabric so I could do it as well. I was hoping someone could tell me exactly how to do the first step? Do I first remove the silver knob and then the door handle? And, what tools do I use? I don't want to break the plastic...
Thanks in advance!

Remove the silver knob that surrounds the door handle, then the black plastic piece under that. Then you remove the piece where you would rest your arm, (window switches are). Just use a flathead. I have done this twice, and never broken anything.

Hi! Thanks for responding so quickly. I managed to get the door off as you described last night. But I haven't changed the fabric because I'm not sure it will look good. The fabric I got is thicker than yours. It's actually the same fake leather that's on the armrest. I could tuck it in on the sides, but it's too thick to tuck in at the top (under the horizontal plastic strip). Did you manage to tuck your fabric in there? I'm worried it will look very sloppy if I can't tuck it in...

Yes I tucked the material in.

Last year switched to a pink fabric that was thicker than the first fabric I used for this project.

Here's an interior shot I took this week of my interior. You can see the latest fabric.

That looks great! I love your seat covers. Did you peel off the old door fabric before putting on the new one? If so, how was the fabric underneath>

Thanks :) Took Over 3 months for the seat covers to arrive. Well worth the wait though.

I removed the floral fabric to put the pink fabric on. The stock fabric has a glue residue on it. It's going to leave glue behind on the stock fabric. But I didn't like the stock fabric to begin with lol.

That's so creative! Any advice on how to change the armrest fabric on the doors? I take my dog everywhere with me and he's pulled the fabric out, I need to make it more sturdy :frown:

Changed my door panels again last year, lol ... Such an easy thing to change, and gives her a new look from time to time.

Silver sparkles this time around ...
