DIY Alternator installation....

Hi everyone,

Im new here to NICO.. i just recently purchased a 1996 Q45, and it has given me nothing but problems... i need to replace the alternator now, and i was wondering if anybody here can help me out. what tools i need? and what i need to remove, in order to swap the alternator.

What kid of problems have you had on your car? how many miles on it? Any service records from previous owners?

The 96 is almost bullittproof if correctly maintained- In 220,000+ miles my 96 has NEVER brokedown or failed to start and get me where I need to go-however it does require following a strategic agressive preventative maintenance plan to allow for top performance and longevity FROM DAY ONE......difficult {impossible}for new owners to make up for years of neglect from previous owners.

Alternator can be tricky. Much easier with lift. Have to move compressor.Whats your ability? Go oe, not cheap reman.
