Hello folks,

My daily is my 2008 M35S and it got boring all BONE stock so I wanted to post a DIY:

2006-2008 M35 cold air intake. (VQ35DE only)

Pros: True CAI does not pull in hot air from engine bay, low cost, great sound from the engine.
Con: Takes some cutting? Not sure here. Not CARB certified? Who cares!

Parts needed and cost:

1. Lower (and longer) portion of a 2003-2006 350z Cold air intake. $50 eBay part:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cold-Air-Intak ... 1271929877
2. 8" intake silicon hose (3" diameter) - $12 Amazon part: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TG ... UTF8&psc=1
3. 4x 3" hose clamps - $8 autozone

Total cost: $70
Total installation time: 20 minutes

1. Remove the air filter box
2. Cut MAF section and leave at least 1" for the clamp. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Akohwob0-eD2ga1b0cV ... g?e=CjrZpi
3. Take 8" intake hose and cut 2" out of it (pic 3) to use as a coupler. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Akohwob0-eD2ga1cVcT ... w?e=5eHI37
4. Use 350z intake pipe and hook up to long piece of the silicon hose (acts as a long coupler) with 2 clamps.
5. Connect clamp to MAF section you cut out, connect sensor.
6. Connect MAF section to 2" silicon coupler with clamp.
7. Connect clamp to OEM intake arm with coupler and clamp. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Akohwob0-eD2ga1fbhM ... w?e=ehmKW2
8. Do an idle re-learn procedure RECOMMENDED but not necessary and enjoy.

Quick 0-100mph run, all stock car just intake.

Good work! I'll add this to the FAQ once I get some other issues sorted.

Thanks, it is my watered-down daily but I enjoy cruising this thing. Next project is replacing a center console piece (missing when I bought the car) and "while I'm in there" wire up a full VDC delete switch like I have in the Z to get sideways in this thing!

Of course in this project you can get your own expensive K&N filter if your heart desires at a slight cost increase. In my case I had the Z intake so it was almost free.

Make sure you post a tutorial for the full VDC delete when you do it! I am looking to do the same, it would be very much appreciated!! Also, awesome job on the DIY CAI! :)

What a nice tidy job you did! Is it going to be a chore to change the air filters now?

Only at wide open throttle. The video does not do it justice. It's A LOT louder.

Actually, the opening from the engine bay to the inside of the bumper is MUCH bigger than my Z or G37 to such an extent that all it takes is removing the clamp on the 6" rubber piece then you pull the whole arm up in one piece. I was amazed at how easy it will be.

Hi I came across a 350z air intake duct hose. I was just wondering if this would also work on the Infinti m45 2007 VK45DE engine?
