distrubutor wiring?

ill try to keep it simple. i lent my car to my roommate and he says it died out. while he was messing with it he says one of the four wires going to the distributor was broken off. in his very poor atempt to fix it he broke all four off! i havent seen the car in four days and went to where he left it to try to fix it. since i no longer know what position the wires go, i tried every possible order, with no success. does anyone know the order? ive also heard someone use that bad word, ecu. what do you guys think. (and while im sure you all want to comment on the friend, trust me i know! i just want my car back, so i can run him over, lol) thanks
