distributor timing

Hello

I replaced my timing chain and reassemble everything. Started the engine up and attempted to adjust the ignition timing. But with the distributor turned all the way against the stop I can only get 2°( I need 3). I'm assuming I need to remove the oil pump and redo the distributor timing from that and. Is there any other way to do that. Is there another way to accomplish this without removing the pump?
