Distributor not spinning.

Can anyone help me? I just rebuilt this KA24DE in my 1996 240sx. Now when i install the distributor it does not spin when cranking the car, thus rendering me without a running engine. Check these photos... Everything is lined up properly, nut the distributor gear and the dual chain timing gear is not meshing properly.

Re timed the engine and used original multi chain gear. The distributor drive part on that gear had separated and was allowing everything to spin except that portion. Wow, racking my brain for something like this... LOL
