Cadence 600x1 @ 2 ohms

I am getting a RF wiring kit from Best buy for less than half price. It comes with two distribution blocks. Both blocks are (1) 4 gauge input out to (4) 8 gauge outputs. These blocks do not have fuses.
Will this be ok for the amp system above? My last distribution block was 4ga input 4ga output with a fuse for each output. Are the 8ga wires too wimpy for the sub amp? The 2nd distribution block is for the ground. Again is 8ga to wimpy for the ground wire for the sub amp? Are fused distribution blocks just overkill since every amp made now has fuses built in?
Thanks in advance
I'd probably try to go a bit bigger. 8 AWG seems a bit small for trying to pull 600 watts RMS. Plus, with all of that power you're trying to get, you should probably run 0/1 AWG power. If the amps can accept it, I'd go 0/1 AWG from the front back. Then block it to two 4 AWG cables from the amps. Then one 4 AWG cable from each amp to ground (you do not want to distribution block the ground back into one cable).
Also, you should fuse at the block. The fuses on the cables are NOT there to protect your amp. They are there to protect your car. If a cable shorts out before the amp and there is no fuse, be prepared from an awesome light show and probably setting your car on fire. Wires are fused for their power handling ability. Your 0/1 AWG power cable can handle at least 300 amps, the 4 AWG cannot. So if the distribution block is not fused, imagine what would happen if a short occurred through one of the 4 AWG cables. It would not pull enough current to trip the 300 amp fuse, so fire again. Fusing is always a good idea!
