I have a 95 240SX SE.. I took distributer out to replace it, how do I set the timing right when dist. was removed and engine was rotated? TIA.

if you have a compression gauge with a detachable hose. thread the hose into the #1 spark plug hole. Place you finger over the end of the hose and rotate the engine by hand. When you feel pressure in the hose your cyl is on its compression stroke. once you determine your on that stroke romeve the hose and stick a long screw driver down inside the spark plug hole so it is touching the top of the piston. Rotate the engine till the screw driver creasts and starts to go back down. look at your timing marks on your pulley and set it to the top dead center mark. Take your distributor and place it in the dist hole with the rotor pointing at #1 terminal on the dist cap.
