distribiter question

Just bought a new distributor, and got it put in. The weird thing is my spark plug wiring order has change. Looking from the driver side to the motor, the wiring use to be from the previous distributor (upper left-right) spark plug wire 1, 2 and (bottom left-right) 3, 4. It is now (upper left-right) 2, 1and (bottom left-right) 4, 3. Is it common to change like that? Ima take a picture tomorrow.
