Man, this car is looking super nice! You've come a long way! This makes me want to hurry and get my own project caught up to where you are at! The only thing I am a little nervous for you about is the skim coat of body filler around the fender. I know you used a bunch of rivets, but fiberglass, sheet metal and body filler flex very differently in different temps. Seeing your from NY, the car will get its share of very cold nights. Any concerns?

hmmm, didn't think about that. But I used to work at a body shop a while ago, and we would repaired rust holes on some cars with fiberglass, and smoothed them out with bodyfiller, and never saw any problems. what I am thinking about is that maybe the whole car might flex slightly enough while driving and ruin the work i did. but i hope nothing like that happens. feels really solid right now. thanks for the input thoe.

Thanks, i tried. I got some little spots that look dull, but nothing a good buff and polish won't fix. Right now i have the front bumper to finish, and the sideskirts. I also ordered, a can of spay tint, to smoke out the rear lights. I might make the tinting part its own thread and take lots of pictures, may be usefull to someone. but thanks again on the comments.

nice craftsmanship there, but why didnt you cut the rear fenders before you molded it on. It kinda defeat the purpose of rear widefenders.

By cutting the rear fenders do you mean the real ones?

If so i didn't cut it because i plan on getting a fender roller, and rolling it under the new wide fenders. Maybe I am wrong but, i feel tha if i had cut them, then it would take away from the body's stiffness, being a unibody design and all. But rolling the fenders from the inside should do the trick.

a fellow club member of mine has w/b panels on his hatch. we cut a bunch of wedges into the fender, bent them up, welded them back together, and trimmed off the excess. i dont' know if we got any pictures of it, but it did the trick. he's running some pretty large tires in the back (wide and tall) so he needed the extra clearance. if you're not doing anything crazy, i'd say stick with rolling them. all that cutting and welding was a lot of work.

I do plan on getting some deeper wheels, but nothing extreme, because i want alot of tire as possible, and i don't want to lower too much. Here in new york(LI), not all streets are nice and smooth. And i had bad experiences with low profile tires, bending all my rims, and problems with lowering the car. So in reality, i don't really need alot of space in the wheel well. But thanks for the advice. I will post pics of when ever i get the fenders rolled, and i get new wheels. Anyone recomend any sizes, offsets, with as much tire as i can have without it looking ugly?

wow, i cant believe how horrible this car is..

i mean come on.. it looks RIDICULOUS.. I don't even know where to start..

The engine bay.. That honestly couldn't look any more horrendous.. you spray painted everything sliver? what in ****s sake were you thinking? the fact that you painted the vacume lines on the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold and the radiator and the throttle body and blah blah blah... the list goes on.. Looks like you didn't even take hardly any of it apart before you painted it.. Not only does it look like dog **** now.. but after heat and stress get put on everything in there its gonna look like ***not to mention you got silver over spray on the engine bay...

moving on to the exterior.. moving right past the ugly body kit... first thing i notice is the pep boys Honda offset wheels you have... those wheels are a ridiculously high offset for the stock body.. and now you put front and rear wide body on the car? Where you molded the wide body is going to crack.. Its only a matter of time.. I've been doing body work for the past 6 years.. i know what I'm talking about.

let me make sure i understand your rear widebody... you didn't cut the factory 1/4 panels? thats gotta be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in my life.. not only does the fact you can see both fenders make it look like ****.. but you lost 100% of the function of the wide body.. You are NEVER gonna be able to fit a wheel in there that looks even 1/100000th decent unless you take the wide body off.. cut the stock 1/4 panel.. weld it up and reinstall the wide body.. Trimming the Stock 1/4 panel and spot/seam/stich welding it is NOT gonna weaken the car... and you can't pull the fenders enough with a fender roller where its gonna work.

There is so much more i have to say about this car but I'm tired of typing..

Don't give me this **** about how much of an ******* i am.. blah blah blah.. He wanted the worlds opinion on his car.. thats why he posted pictures of it online..

Its not my fault this kid completely ruined a perfectly good car

Wow, Starbucks coffee seems to really get people emotional? LOL.

Hey guy(gal??pms??), I don't mind that you don't like the body kit, paint job, engine bay, ect, ect. But relax a bit, breathe in breathe out. I did post up my pics, and do exept to get peoples opinions, positive and negative. But from the look of your Myspace pics, it feels as if you just put on some new wheels on you car, lowerd it, and now feel you have the best car in the world. and from your Myspace pics " http://www.myspace.com/mrcoffey " it looks like you do feel your car should be on a magazine. Well, anyways, Thanks for the reply, it is the longest one yet.

Starbucks, dude, chill. in ignorant rage you forgot a few things:
STARBUCKS wrote:Looks like you didn't even take hardly any of it apart before you painted it..
Did you see his pics? he yanked out the motor and took the parts he painted off of it.
STARBUCKS wrote:Not only does it look like dog **** now.. but after heat and stress get put on everything in there its gonna look like ***
Some people take great care in keeping thier engine bay clean. have you seen 94_240sx's car? have you seen his engine bay? SPOTLESS.
STARBUCKS wrote:not to mention you got silver over spray on the engine bay...
How could he have manageed to do that when the parts were painted far away from the car? Im not seein it...
STARBUCKS wrote:and you can't pull the fenders enough with a fender roller where its gonna work.
other people here seem to have a different opinion about that but w/e
STARBUCKS wrote:Its not my fault this kid completely ruined a perfectly good car
Chill, its HIS car not yours. He can do whatever the heck he wants to do with it. by the way you forgot the part where the car is NOT DONE. so bash on it when its finished if you want. it doesnt make sense to bash on an incomplete project car. and dude, your car is sweet and everything, but for your "6 years of body work" you lowered it, put some sportmax's on it and think your the s***. distant240sx is doin all this work himself in his friggin driveway. give him some damn respect. sure im skeptical about the rear fenders too, BUT HES NOT DONE WITH THE CAR!
