Hi i have a 92 240 2 door 5 speed and im loosing oil and its not leaking onto the ground any. I see kinda where its leaking from its leakign from under the intake near the oil filter. I know its not leakign from teh filter itself. Is it possible that its leaking from the black oil screw in thing i forget teh name its up from teh filter to the front of the car alittle under intake. Thansk if you could answer this buying oil alot is annoying :) even though my engine is clean as hell from adding new oil alot.

Regardless of what you think... if its not ON your engine or IN your engine, it went THROUGH your engine. Ergo, burning oil.

If you are losing enough oil to have to refill, it would make at least a few drips on the ground. Since you said there was nothing on the ground I could only believe you and assume it went somewhere else. The only other place is out the tailpipe. On the other hand you gave no proof that you weren't burning oil other than "I'm not burning oil". So I wrote that in the hopes you would check your sparkplugs and possibly get a sniffer done at a smog shop to find out since it clearly states the only places you could have a problem. Unless of course you have those nefarious oil thieves that constantly steal valuable oil from your crankcase at night to use in their plans for world domination.

So thanks for lashing out and being a total wanker....

Hmm not sure if its the same part but I was leaking from just under the oil filter. Oil pressure switch, it started dripping very lightly at first then loosing more oil when moving. I got the part from autozone 5bucks, replacing it was a little difficult until I found a long groove joint plier. You slide the rubber boot back to expose the clip then push it together and pull. With a groove joint plier it will grab the switch and turn counterclockwise to remove.Removal is easiest from underneath the car, space and angle from the top is limited. I felt some lost power comeback after I fixed it :ylsuper Also I was leaking very lightly basically the oil would stay in the rubber boot, as more engine pressure is applied when driving more oil would drip.

i'd still like to know how you never had a drop of oil on the ground and had a leak at the same time. Not to mention how you were able to determine yourself that you werent burning a little oil. Now im no smarta s s, but from the point of view that i work on alot of engines and the fact that the Law of Conservation still applies here on earth, id like to understand.

Don't assume anything when it comes to cars. Your engine COULD have been burning oil, just in small amount to were it is not noticeable. Just because it doesn't shoot a big blue cloud out your muffler every time your foot touches the pedal doesn't mean your engine doesn't comsume some once in a while. Be friendly on the boards, it WILL pay off to make friends here.

are you from america? i think the word your looking for is "the", it's an article and here are some meanings.

1)Used before singular or plural nouns and noun phrases that denote particular, specified persons or things: the baby; the dress I wore.

2)Used before a noun, and generally stressed, to emphasize one of a group or type as the most outstanding or prominent: considered Lake Shore Drive to be the neighborhood to live in these days.

3)Used to indicate uniqueness: the Prince of Wales; the moon.

4)Used before nouns that designate natural phenomena or points of the compass: the weather; a wind from the south.

another good place to look, http://www.hop.com

Under the oil filter there is a bar with a drop in the middle. It was leaking onto that and i didnt notice till a couple days ago when i checked my oil. Anyways i type to fast and i always type "the" wrong i have no idea why. Man i may go to another 240sx club the people in this club (NOT ALL) are acting like little kids. Even after i said sorry i blew up. Now if you dont understand why a drop didnt hit the ground while it was parked then your a complete idiot. It only leaked alot while the car was moving from the oil pressure. When it sat it dripped on the bar keeping it from the ground. Got it yet or do i need to get a slut to shuve a dildo up your ***?

I'm liking that idea at the moment. I have read this entire thread and guess who comes off as the littlest kid with the biggest potty mouth? Don't p1ss on people who try to help just cause they don't have the right answer the first time. There is a *lot* of knowledge here; if you want to stay here keep it civil.

LOL That was my reprimand. From what I hear NICO is fairly lenient as far as sites go and I credit a lot of NICO's success to that. Banning usually requires some major a55wadage, and at least a couple warnings. And no one is banned in a vacuum, meaning the admins don't act alone unless they have to do something quick.

well im guessing you didnt read the tread good enough. because he was being an smartass there is no reason i would write its not burning oil for no reason. And over that i have people saying you may be burning alittle oil cant you get it threw your head just because your burning oil dosnt mean another member is burning oil. It was the oil switch i changed it and it was a pain in the butt. I drove it 500 miles today and it didnt loose a bit of oil. none of you helped a bit. But KFL if you come back to this thread Thanks for the help that little paragraph you wrote solved my whole problem. And for the little kids making a big deal and crying alot **** off. An adult can cuss and be an adult. But a real man says sorry as i did a long time ago. So later ****ers!

Man I WISH I was 12 again. I would do so many things differently.

I'm old. Damn old. And I don't list my cars because nobody cares what I own even if I think they are cool.

I'm sorry if my first response sounded *****y. It was meant to be pithy, yet informative. In the future I guess I'll have to be a bit more clear. Its sad that this turned so ugly. You apologized, and now I am, there was no need for the whole thread to go so wrong. Though I admit... rather entertaining.

Wow, what kind of engine do you have? I've never heard of an engine that doesn't burn oil.
