This is my first time shopping for a new car in 5 years, but I don't recall having problems like this in the past.In '05 I emailed numerous dealerships the specs I wanted and the price I wanted to pay and most responded with offers. So I decided to try the same technique with Nissan dealerships.

1. Most refuse to answer emails. Even their "internet department" won't respond. When I called they simply said "we'll look into getting you a quote, but you should come down here".

2. So far 100% have refused to sell their cars at the listed price on their websites if that price is a good deal.

3. The dealerships that offered to match offers told me that they won't match them if the price is too low, because it cuts into their profit margin.

My local dealer is the worst I've ever seen. I walked in with a pre-approved loan from my bank for $17000, the invoice prices printed off kbb and cars.com and desire to buy. 30 minutes later they still hadn't been able to give me a quote saying it "takes time to research the discounts and rebates". I left my number and they still have yet to call me.

So, I called Nissan to complain about the false advertising and overall worst customer service I've ever seen. They took notes, asked questions and said they would look into it. So far all the ads stating bunk prices are still posted.

So, does anyone know dealers that offer $100 over invoice for ordered cars? Dodge and Ford do it, but Nissan places have been rude and incompetent so far.

Oh, and the car I'm looking for is a loaded 2010 SL HB.

Here are some shady places I've found:Route 22 Nissan $12,913DARCARS Nissan $12,931Nemet Auto $13,095Courtesy Nissan $13,495

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Honestly, the term "stealerships" rings very true way too often. I'm in Jackson, and work for the Nissan factory in Jackson. You're welcome to email me offline (my email is in my user profile) and I'll see what I can do for you. The dealerships here aren't any better, and really being an employee almost hurts me more than you when I talk to the 3 in my area.

Keep trying, we'll get things fixed up and you'll be in that SL in no time.

guess ya gotta be in Canada . . . sort of.

I e-mailed the four closest dealerships to me.

2 didn't get back to me [I even called one, got an answering amchine, and didn't get a call back -- needless to say I won't go there ever . . . and I was a return customer!]; one called after a week and a half, and one returned my e-mail the next day with an offer. Wneh I wrote back and said their offer was too high they replied it was the best they would/could do and that they didn't mess around wtih e-mail replies -- if you've researched and e-mailed, they [he] said, you were a serious buyer and they wanted your [my] business.

I went into the dealership up the road from me [documented elsewhere] and asked them to match the price and was told "if you can get it at that price grab it]. Obviously a good price so I did.

So not all dealerships are jerks when it comes to e-mailings.

Well, I got an amazing bit of help from someone on this forum and went back to the same dealer that wasn't interested in price matching, answering emails or giving quotes over the phone. Originally I had planned to buy an SL, but after the delay I thought more about it and opted for the S model with the power package, floor mats, cargo organizer and splash guards. MSRP was $15,225.

After all the discounts was $12703.40. Just about 16.5% below MSRP.

It's all stock now, but after the first round of changes I'll post some pictures.
