Discouraging Problems......

WELL I DISCOVERED MY RB20DET IS LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE INTAKE RUNNERS. I ALSO HAVE A VERY HARD TIME STARTING THE CAR SO I'M WONDERING IF ONE OR SOME OF THE IDLE CONTROL SENSORS ARE FOULED. ANYWAY, I ORDERED A COMPLETE GASKET/SEAL SET TODAY TO SOLVE MY LEAKING PROBLEM AND WHEN I GET MY GASKETS AND AND INTAKE PLENUM I'LL PULL THE SENSORS OFF AND START CLEANING. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THE HARD START AND INITIAL ROUGH IDLE?

if the car has been burning coolant then you will need to replace the o2 sensor.coolant fouls the o2.i would make sure that there arnt any cracks in the intake mani because if there are then a new gasket set wont do much when its put back on.also hard start is due to the coolant leaking into the cylinders.

YEAH I'M REPLACING THE O2 ANYWAY.I KNOW THERE ISN'T A CRACK BECAUSE THE MOTOR WAS LEAKING WHEN I GOT IT BECAUSE THE LACK OF A GASKET (VENUS-AUTO ) SO WE CHECKED IT AND RTV'D IT, IT PROBABLY DIDN'T SEAL RIGHT. YEAH I KNOW THE HARD START COULD BE FROM THE LEAKING COOLANT BUT I HAVE THE FEELING THAT IT COULD BE MORE NOW.

Did you get the gasket set from that Australian place? I think it's around $320 US for the entire set.

I PICKED UP MY GASKET SET FROM STEWART WILKINS MOTORSPORTS. IT HAS EVERY GASKET AND SEAL ON THE ENGINE. I'M PAYING ($294.27 - GST) + SHIPPING.

Yeah, that is the place..I see the aussie dollar has lost some value over the last couple weeks. I'm definitely doing all of those seals before installing my engine.

Does it include headgasket? I won't do that unless I think it needs it.

Really? Because I pretty much want all of the seals and gaskets that are easy and worth changing, minus the headgasket. I guess just tell them you don't want the HG?

YEAH EMAIL THEM AND ASK THEM FOR A QUOTE ON A SET WITHOUT A HG...... THEY QUOTED ME BEFORE BUT NOW I JUST WANT TO REPLACE IT ANYWAY.
