Hi everyone,
It saddens me today... I have a 1999 black Q45T with only 130k on her. The brake/tail light sensor went out. (28425-3h100 part #) This is like finding a needle in a haystack!!! If anyone can help me with a part or direct me to someone who could connect me then it would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to lose such a great car to a cheap part.

Hi Miles-
You've already tried a boneyard? I think that is your best bet
You might also try Amayama trading co. to get a new one direct from Japan.
Last option which might be the cheapest would be to dissect the sensor, and replace the faulty component. I've not done to your specific part, but if it is like the fan control amplifiers and such, it likely has fuse links in it. Might be a simple repair.

I appreciate the feedback and I will continue my hunt.... problem is finding this car in a junkyard. Is there a special way to search for cars in the junkyard? Besides the obvious Google search... maybe a junk search engine?

I recently traveled nearly 500 miles to a junkyard that had 2 Qs. Fortunately it as a city I wanted to go to for fun too.

Never using a/c stop leak again lol. Because if it's a clog, the stop leak will create a permanent seal in the liquid line...and no amount of flush or shop air will fix.

Are you sure it's discontinued? It doesn't look like it here:

But other sites look like it is. How do you know your sensor is bad?

I would search on ebay for something simple, like brake lights, and look for pictures where they show the part on the car. Maybe you'll find a full car that's being parted out, and you could message them to see if they could pull the sensor for you.

You can bypass it by putting a jumper on the connector. The sensor just needs a ground path. I had to bypass it for LED bulbs. I have spare sensor if you're interested, or i can post a pic of the bypassed connector
