Feeling fairly stupid right now - I'm trying to replace the power window/lock switch unit in the driver door of my 97 Altima, and I find myself physically unable to unplug the wiring harness from the unit. I thought it was just a tight connection in my car, but I just now got back from the junk yard where I was picking up the replacement unit, and darned if I couldn't unplug that one either. Luckily they just let me snip the whole thing off of the wrecked car. So now I've got 2 window/lock units that I need to unplug the wires from - one of them dangling from my car door and one sitting here on my desk. Haynes, Chiltons, and several web sites just say to unplug it. Am I on Candid Camera?

Never mind - I just had to make a foolish web post in order to figure out the problem. The release was on the long side, but it looked like it should have been on the short ends. Came right out once the release was pressed in hard.

Yep, Nissan locks most of their harnesses to lessen the chance of them pulling or vibrating apart.
