Got my Vleds bulbs in the mail the other day and was reading the Nissan service manual on how to change them(the 2 courtesy/reading lights and the dome) and read that I'm to disconnect the battery before changing. Is this necessary? Just wondering as I can remember my dad changing the bulbs in my Mazda's dome light and I don't remember him disconnecting the battery first. Just didn't think that would be necessary for the dome lights. Of course, I don't want to mess anything up, so if I need to do it, I will.

Thanks!

So switch the dome light to the OFF position and you should be fine. If you want to be super safe you can discount the battery but it is not necessary. I have changed all kinds of lights on cars (headlight, foglight, license plate light, dome light, ect) without disconnecting the battery.

Yeah...that's not necessary. Only time I've disconnected the battery when installing lights was on my truck when I had to install a wiring harness since they were additional lights that the vehicle did not come with.
I didn't disconnect the battery for any of the LED's I've installed in my Rogue.
