So as I was coming home from picking up my wife I noticed my A/C kinda went a little on the not as cold side of things. I then pull over to see if my A/C belt snapped off and I see coolant just pouring out from the front part of the engine bay. I am looking and feeling the houses and all feels well. No breaks in them and the housings seem ok. Radiator is intacked and no leaks of any sorts...

Location of the leak is coming directly betwwen both sides of the head. I see a bright silver piece with 2 outlets on it. I believe the leak is coming from that location. I can see coolant leaking directly down on the Crank so I am thinking in my troubleshooting that I have narrowed it down to the Waterpump, if the water pump is in that location.

Any help and info would be appreciated and Thanks ahead of time....

There are two very short hoses that feed the heads with cooled coolant.
Betcha a doughnut one of them has a leak !!
Had the very same thing happen and assumed it was the water pump.
Upon pulling the pump I realized it was the hose !!!
The water pump is what the Main fan is bolted to.
If the leak is above that its one of those two hoses.

I hope you didn't overheat the engine big time ??

I was looking through You tube and looking at some other vids of timing chain installs on the VQ30de so I can see the front of the J and I did notive those 2. I mean the water was gushing! I was flipping out like WTF is my luck and it was pouring so I had to stop 4 times to stop and add coolant and barely made it home. Motor should be fine as it didn't get all the way to the top.

I am hopen' that it is one of those hoses. Went and checked pricing on a new water pump so I am ok with either one needing to be replaced. Just puts a damper on my DIY for the custom Foglights I wanted to do....

I feel your pain. I had the same problem and was replacing my water pump when I found that it was these two stupid hoses that were the issue:bang . At least I have a new water pump now

Well sent the J to my mechanic and this dude is legit. So he won't try and sell me something I don't need. I am hopen' that it is juts one of these hoses behind the timing cover and not the water pump. I would try and tackle it myself but I just don't have the time with watching my 3 yr. old during the day, sleeping in the afternoon, and working at night. Side note I am getting my wifes KIA back from him soon as well. lol!

After this problem is solved I need to get my DIY fog done and over with. I will keep everyone posted.

yah its most likely one of those hoses. kinda odd cause i noticed the other day my ac belt is partially shredded so i need to replace mine as well. here is a pic when i did my timing belt 4 yrs ago. already time to do my next one on my current motor in 7k miles. a clamp could have failed or the hose could have split. if you were close i could replace it relatively easy but GA isnt close to TX haha.

btw ive started doing my timing belts every 60k like the 300zx. personally cause i drive my car hard and ive added a 5 spd so dont wanna risk 105k on a belt with the VG30DE.

Car is fixed. Water pump was shot and since my mechanic was all up in there he went ahead and changed the timing belt as well.

how did it fail? i had a shop back in the day put a non oem water pump and it got sheared clean in half on my 10 min drive back to school. shop redid the whole timing belt with an oem water pump and charged the water pump manufacture.

Have no idea to be honest with you. Was driving and gave out al of a sudden. No slow leak or anything. I mean I check my fluids atleast once a week and never noticed and residue near crank or front of engine. However I think I have a pwer steering leak that I need to take care of eventually.
