Hi,

Both window glasses of my car doors are loose. Whenever I go over bumps or close the doors they shake and clash with door panels.

I would like to tighten the window glasses. I am trying to disassemble the door but I don't know how to take the door's inside panels off.

Does any one know how to do this? Which component inside the door do I work on?

chances are is a sloppy window regulator, IIRC there is adjustments on the panel that can bring them in a little tighter. to remove the door panel there are several hidden screws usually cover by plastic caps, look for these caps and covers, they will be pretty obvious removable pieces.

Found one inside that deep groove in which you put your hand in order to close the door but can't find rest of them. Can you give me some hints?

89 240?

There are two. The one in the grip, and one toward the front of the door close to the top. It looks like a recessed button. You can't miss it. Flip open the "button" and the screw is beneath. After that the door panel pulls off and up. It uses fasteners that just pop out of place. After you remove the screw in the grip, you'll need to pop out that plastic grip piece and disconnect the window switch harness from it. Also remove the plastic piece surrounding the door handle and lock. It's hard to explain, but it pulls off. You'll need to use force, but don't pry it with any tools.

to get the bezel off from around the release lever I use a pocket screw driver to gently push up and out starting at the top between the lever and the trim peice and work my way around the front till all 5 points are released then simply slide it back and it comes off with out breaking it.

Were you able to tighten them, then?

Thank you very much for the helps. I found what seems to be the holes but didn't have a time to work on it. I will get back to you. Thanks.

I tried to work on the window regulator tonight.I almost got the panel off but the power window switch cluster didn't come off. I have no idea how to get this cluster off the panel. Could you explain me how to take the power window switch cluster off? Thanks!

it should just pop out, but I have found it is easier to release it from inside the panel. That reduces the chances of breaking its bezel. If you tilt the panel so you can reach your hand inside the panel ,you push in on the spring retainer holding it clamped to the panel then just lift it out and unplug the harness.

Got the trim panel off finally. But tightening the regulator bolts doesn't help at all.

My window shakes horizontally, instead of vertically...
