Here are a few pics on me disassembling my Cluster since it was dirty inside.Don't be scared to remove it wont damage anything unless your not careful. This shows how and why the cluster black layer lights up.It also shows the inside of it and all the bulbs in the back which are all replaceable and there are some under the square boxes which I didn't feel like removing. There's 6 T10 bulbs two signals and four for the cluster the rest are mostly the same size.Excuse the mess in my room came late from Transformers 2 and also had a package that arrived.

Noice. The back side. The bulbs.I replaced my Diagnostic thingy bulbs to these and works fine and better.Blue LED for Security.OEM.Blue LED T10.To remove/open up the cluster take it off from these not the clear plastic or it'll crack it.There should be like four on the bottom and top.Plastic should still be on.There it is bare.First layer. It's a little see through but you can't see sorry. The layer that lights up.You know those stainless steel chrome piece they sell on Ebay?Well this is it.Comes OEM under everything.Naked.Nissan Japan.60MPH 1024RPMThen you can remove the plastic but hitting those pins in.

So here's my MAF sensor as you can see it has a thin layer of oil or something. Also one pin isn't soldered but looks factory?Anyways let me know if something looks bad about it.Im planning on replacing anyways later.

Copper plate should be lifted. Two boards.Thin brown layer.Copper top came off lol.I put it back on though it's very delicate.

Here's my car as it sits now. Can't lower the back more it's as low as possible.I need toe arms to have good alignment and also shows how bent up the cover that covers the belts is.My car is higher than it but that sits lower lol.Don't hate on my Shroom lol I got my green one stolen in a rich neighbor hood.It is a Mario mushroom and I painted it to a poison one.Okay now that I said that you can say how dumb it is.

There some rust there. Was a SF car which was around a moister area for a long time.Pre-cats dont scrape.Need to get pipes soon and clean my Diff.Don't Judge Me.-FIN-

ENJOY!!!Bring on the hate.

Pictures of instrument cluster are interesting, I have never seen what one looks like from the inside/rear.

What is the significance of the mushroom decoration- is it a California thing?

TAKE THOSE RUCAS OFF NOW!!!!

The bottom one was used for 100 miles, top one never installed. BEWARE.

Also I can guarantee your rear toe is off. Always get adjustable toe arms when you lower a car.

Wow, with spell, grammar and syntax checkers, and in focus pictures, this post might actually be informing!

I am stunned someone would spend so much energy spinning their wheels in a mud hole.

Who else spent more time looking in the background of those cluster pictures for anything funny rather than paying attention?

It would be interesting to do bending yield tests on aftermarket adjustable suspension components.

After seeing and dealing with Stillen quality or lack thereof wear and bending for years and a few things for 300zx-240x. I haven't seen much that comes close to oem - unfortunately.

Lowering and potholes are severe testing but nothing beats 4 wheel airborne slams and curb contacts at speed.

For those with a scratched clear display cover that polishing won't cure, oem replacements are available................nothing beats a brand new cover and it looks pristine for a few years if the correct cleaners and cloths are used.

I always keep two junkyard units around as immediate spares [only need to swap odometer].

Good to know on the lenses. I actually cleaned one of my ebay junkyard spares with the Novus three step plastic polishes and was able to get a horrible cluster lens looking like brand new. I did the full disassembly much like Berner did and cleaned everything with compressed air and a paint brush.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing .

Your car looks good and I think it would like a lot nicer without the pinstripe .

Your MAF looks real clean from the outside and so does the connector. Mine are not that nice. Is that a new connector?

Unknown, what is your magic touch that makes people rag on you?

Anytime someone shares photographs from their disassembled car it's not a waste of time.

Some of you worried about the bandwidth or disk space for NICO? I hear those things are coming down in price pretty quick!!!

Nice work man!

Yea it would be interesting to see how these "performance" companies hold up against oem nissan.

Nothing will ever beat OEM even the high quality because OEM is made right and for the car. I still keep my OEM stuff incase because it's thee best!!! Did I just say that?

paranoidjack the fact that I'm 18 and doing this I shouldn't be that's why. They rag on me I do it they shut up that's how I see it member my Plenum job? Not being cocky but it's kinda true.I'm more of a risk taker I mean I'll dig into the Plenum not reading much except the primary stuff but I mean it's kinda straight forward on how to remove it.I look at it as a learning thing everyday maybe the fact that I don't know about it and learn makes then rag?I dunno I'm just here to help and get help like everyone else.

It was replaced by previous owner. For some reason it doesnt go all the way in, at least the connector plastic, but it's pushed all the way until the pin clips so it's making contact but I dunno. Had the worst mis ever yesterday.
