When disconnecting the balance tube in the back of the engine, do I have to release the fuel pressure?

No. You are only disconnecting the vacuum, not opening the fuel lines.

Okay, thank you very much, just trying to get to the fifth and sixth spark plug.

You should however, change your O-rings if they look old or just in case. Make sure you reseal it nice and tight.

I tried to get o-rings at the nissan dealership before I dissassembled the balance tube, however they didn't carry them. When I did take it apart the o-rings seemed okay. I lubricated them with a little oil to give a better seal before I put the tube back on, is that okay?

You should be fine....however if the seals fail then just go to wal-mart/true value and get some high temp sylicone and reseal them with that. And you will know when they fail as there will be some fuel and a small amount of oil leaking around the base of the balance tube.

Thank you for the advice. When I read the manual, it said to replace the o-rings, and then when I posted, grk nickafis said to do the same thing too. It sucks that I couldn't get those o-rings at the dealership. But, thanks again.
