So my wife backed out of the spot in front of my house the other night and her tint on the back window is factory, but darker than hell...misjudged it, and lightly tapped the brick wall behind her....and I mean, light. Put a dime size dent in the chrome bumper, but whatever, no harm, no foul...ball peen hammerand it'll be fixed. But, then, I was looking over it today, and the whole f*cking bumper is pushed in 2 inches on the driver's side!! I looked underneath and the cheezy brackets that pass for bumper mounts these days were all tweaked and jacked up...bumper itself didn't bend, but the brackets just went to ****. I understand they are there to take the impact, but she was BARELY moving!! Hight quality cars my hairy ***. So, I'm gonna custom fab a daimond plate steel bumper and bolt it directly to the frame, so if someone does infact rear-end her, instead of the entire bed crumpling, it will decimate whatever unfortunate car may be unlucky enough to collide with Super Bumper. I'm just really pissed that I spent that much on a "truck" that can't take a light-*** bumper tap. Gay.

What 'Yota "truck" was it? I mean, I can see weak bumpers on cars where they're likely to be outdone and out-massed by anything that hits them. But on a truck? No way - I want a some pure strength!

And I've been surprised at what the QX4 can take even with its plastic bumpers and trim. Other day I was driving through a parking lot and some ditz slams her car in reverse backing out of her parking spot. I slam on the brakes but still end up putting a respectable dent in her bumper. The QX4? Not a scratch.

ywah, i agree our bumpers are SOLID. i backed into those yellow poles that sorround fire hydrants...i was backing out of a very tight space and didnt realize it was there and thought i had about another 5 metres left to back up and BAM i felt it real hard. the two passengers in the car were shaken up, and i heard a loud bang. So i get out of the q to look at the first time i ever damaged it and.....a tiny ding on the bumper. cleaned off the yellow paint and its not even noticeable now. It really surprised me.

LMAO wow!...well i doubt you could see it in your rearview so screw it

but really if it wasnt for the rear trailor hitch im sure the r50s would end up like that too...i've noticed that both the pathfinders and 4 runners from far have the rear bumpers seem sagging down

Yeah, the Toy I was referring to is an '07 Tacoma Prerunner...And, then to top it off, went to load her Raptor and my RM125 in the bed yesterday to go play in the desert and I felt like I needed a proctologist to help me cram 2 things into a very tight space. Screw this truck, I'm getting her another Silverado.
