about 2-3 weeks ago, i made sure my oil was about 2/3 of the way to the F line. and today i just checked it when i filled up my tank and it was below the E. theres no drippings... no noticable smoke. i just recently changed my plugs and the old ones had white residue on them(dunno if that is worth noting) and i also readjusted my timing (mini tune-up). it seems to have been eating alot of oil since i used mobil 1 synthetic, but it has always been the same weight oil (10w30). if anyone has a clue as to what i could check , or any suggestions on how to keep this from happening, please post :)

thanks

How long had the engine been off when you checked it today? Oil needs time to drip down into the pan from the various places within the engine. I usually give it 10 minutes.

check things like the pressure sender, and if you still cant find it, get some oil dye and a uv light

You have to find out where its going. If its not leaking and not burned up, check to see if its getting in the coolant. If so, head gasket.

daedalus: i had the car off while gasing up and paying, so probably about 2-3 mins. i'll keep that in mind when i check today

240kid: i'll look into that, thanks.

droll: not in coolant, coolant is still a brilliant green
