Alright, I will first say I am a huge supporter of TPMS for the retards who are unable to maintain a vehicle!!!

I am not one of them...... My tire pressure is measured every weekend and my car gets a walk around at least once a day.

That being said. I modify my cars extensively. This also means changing the wheels and tire setups very frequently, I have gone through 25 sets of wheels on one car in a years time before....

I have in cars prior eliminated quite a few electrical systems using the proper resistors to trick everything into thinking its all ok. I will be doing this to my y34(although I will more than likely find some permanent wheels for the car at some point and TPMS will be reactivated). In the interim and during the winter when my winter wheels that wont use TPMS. I just downloaded the FSM for this car and will do my research, but if anyone has any knowledge into this system that would be great.

I am looking for anyone who knows the electrical system fairly through and through.

Thanks.

I'd be curious to see and hear what becomes of your research. I have a Y34 and like you I didn’t want the tpms re-installed in my new after market rims, but I was talked into it by my installer. It was the worst decision ever. I would get 22psi warning while driving and would pull over to check only to find that is was false and not to mention the layout of the reading on the dash display; no one knew the layout of the config to figure which tire was actually low in pressure. The damn dealer didnt even know.

The tpms system in after market rims (in my opinion) are the most in accurate devices ever, so I go them un-installed. I've been driving cars for years without a tpms and I’ve never had a problem, so....... I’m a firm believer in checking my pressure at-least once a week and so far so good. I did experience the tire pressure screen coming up reading "**" after every start and I was forced to press the "prev" button", but this only last a week and it finally went away. Keep me posted on your findings. My guess would be that you wont have to disable anything, but……… we will see. Good Luck

fyi, here was my question on that tpms layout exactly 3 years and like Szhosain said, "Not convenient"zerothread?id=165227

Thanks for the props on my M. It's one of the meaniest looking rides I've ever driven. So..... you are doing the Insurance c/o and y33 camber plates on the Y34? Sounds juicy! The Y34 clan here is pretty damn anxious for some custom suspension ideas. KEEP US UP ON THE PROGRESS!
