First off, I hope this is the correct forum for this? It doesn't look active so hopefully I'll get some attention.

So long story short, I just did a CVT->6Mt conversion on my 2008 Altima 3.5 and we're at the very end of getting the car going. Well, I got a new MT specific ECU and UpRev did their thing to hack it and sent it back, loaded it up with "anti-theft" disabled as that's what they told me at the time was needed to start the car due to the ikey not being reprogrammed. But now I'm learning it's a bit more involved due to the NATS system since the car is attempting to crank but won't start.

So we then went through and made sure all the wiring was correct with continuity tests, returned ECU to stock just for the hell of it and even tried to use a screwdriver on the starter to get the car going but no joy. So again, I'm beginning to believe it's got something to do with the NATS system or the push to start button or both? I'd really hate to have to take it into the Nissan dealer since the last time I was up there they threw me out due to not wanting to touch my car, lol.

So in the end, the question becomes, can UpRev disable NATS or can only Nissan do it?

Also, my technical knowledge only extends so far so be gentle with me. haha :)

Thanks for the info. I sent you a quick PM.

And just to update the thread... I've learned that UpRev cannot reprogram the BCM. I actually had a mobile tech reprogram it with their proprietary tool so my keys and security system now work however the car won't start due to the BCM looking for the TCM. I have purchased the Consult 3 device and software. It will be here this week so I'm hoping that I can reconfigure the BCM to a manual configuration at that time.

Start watching around 6:22. The car wouldn't fire on a manual ECU, but it fired on the stock ECU. Later in this video, they talk about bypassing the inhibitor switch which prevents the car from starting in anything but park or neutral. These guys are pretty cool when they are modding for real. Usually they take requests and do mods on cheap cars that they'd never do themselves. Hope that helps too.

I think you should be able to get things going with uprev.
[email protected] hacked my rom file to trick it into not needing a bcm or tcm. I have uprev osirus tuner and works fine, just turned off all NATS and CAN errors codes. 02 Spec-V with stock NON-CAN BCM and no TCM running a 2005 350z manual transmission ECU, and 2004 Spec-V CAN gauges. Runs a 2003 Maxima VQ35DE just fine, with 6 speed manual transmission.ImageImage
Good Luck!

I talked with a guy on the Z forums who sells Uprevs, and he said he could pre program the Uprev to shut the the factory security system.

IMO, I DON'T WANT the damned factory security setup as its more of a pain than a blessing. There are other ways of protecting your car other than a security system that can leave the OWNER stranded.
