I just bought a new Altima and so far I like it a lot. One annoyance is that when I scroll through the audio sources using the steering wheel button, I have to go through 3 XM radio presets before I get back to AM/FM1/FM2 (as a side note, my wife's Rogue lets you mix AM, FM, and XM stations in three general blocks of presets... SO much better).
I don't use XM radio and I never will. I would like to disappear it altogether but my understanding after some googling is that Nissan won't help me because of their contract with XM. Does anyone know how to disable XM? Can I unplug the feed from the XM module to the radio (if it's even a separate thing)? Unplug power to the XM module? Hit the XM module with a hammer?
Do I need an aftermarket radio to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.
