Does the G37 have a repeating seat belt warning, that cycles periodically after the initial one? On my Subarus, that's how it works by default, but there's a key-on-off-on-seatbelt-engage-disengage sequence that will turn off the repeat and keep it off. Is there a way to do that on the G37?

I don't want to disable the warning at start up, I think there's a federal law on that. But I live around the corner from my golf club, which is in my subdivision in a 25 mph zone, and I frequently drive up there without buckling up. It's just far enough for the Subaru repeat to be annoying until I found out how to disable it.

It doesn't have. Just a light on the dash tell you to smart up and buckle up. No other warning at all. At leas on my 08.

Just a light on my 2010 as well.
The acura MDX we have if u dont have the seatbelt on it will give you warning and flash at you and everything. Its really annoying. And its not that I'm driving on the highway with it. It's when I drive in the parking lot to park after I get the kids out to the wife at the front door of the mall or any other place.

Thanks for the useful information, ZoZo and Fezzik. I'm just gathering info to distract me until I go after the new G. I was planning to wait until the last week of the month for maximum leverage with the dealer, but I'm not sure I can stand it much longer, may jump this coming week. I'm seeing some really agressive Internet pricing in the DC area, like $33,300 for a $40,040 sticker.

No problem.

Most cars actually have the way to disable it as you mentioned but with the G you don't have to do anything. I know what you mean. It could be annoying when you drive in parking lots.

Don't show any interest when you buying the car. Be always ready to walk out. Maybe if you start few days earlier and get some internet quotes and just walk in and ask them to match it for you or just buy it over the net and pick it up.

WHen I was buying our mdx i told them the price I wanted. They said no way. The wife and I walked out and were in our car driving out of the parking lot when the salesman came by and said we can do your price. lol

Thanks. That's pretty much the plan, except that I'm going to send the guy the advertised special that's 75 miles away and say "Can you do this? That would get me to buy from you." He's the Internet guy for the local dealership, so he should be tuned in. If not, they have the car I want just over an hour up the road, for the price I noted. Looking forward to posting pics. but I frankly have a great car now and don't really have to do anything.

lol just buckle up, most accidents happen near your house...

but its just that light in my 2010 G, in my homeboys 2010 TL it's an individual voice warning for both the driver and passenger lol...

The G is pretty quiet. Some of the older ones were a bit annoying but nothing like a Subby or a Ford. There are a few lights but nothing too aggrivating. I drive these short distances and frequently have to have do something unorthodox inside of several cars per day so I know just how annoying the repetitive beeping can be.

The airbag control system is programmed to respond differently with the seatbelts engaged.
The seatbelt retraction system is one of the more advanced systems available currently.

As always wearing a belt is always ideal but I'm actively trying to stop throwing stones from my glass house and I am guilty of riding dangerously more than I should.

Welcome to the group, I hope you enjoy your new car.
Did you get an X model?

Yes, G37x sedan. Picked it up yesterday. Points taken on buckling up; I wouldn't dream of leaving the subdivision unbelted, it's just the around-the-corner to the clubhouse usually.

See the intro/pic sticky, or my thread on break-in questions. Poor pics, will shoot more this weekend.
