I bought a new double din headunit, pioneer 3600dab (Australian one, 2003 pathfinder), and no longer require the services from my powered antenna. The new deck comes with its own aerial for the digital reception..

If i pull the aerial connection from my new deck, the power is cut and the deck wont turn on. The aerial is somehow providing power to the headunit with its extra wire

I will leave the aerial in place, no need to remove it, just need a quick fix. Someone who can read the electrical charts could provide me with the correct wire to cut inside the wheel well

thanks

The antenna receives constant power to do its up/down thing, and goes up when it receives a 12v signal from the radio. When that 12v signal disappears the antenna goes down. You should be able to locate the wire that supplies that 12v from the stereo and simply snip it. It'll be pin 5 on the M48 connector on page EL-209.

If you can't or don't want to hunt it down, the antenna should have its own fuse you can pull. If that doesn't pan out, pull the passenger wheel liner out and disconnect the antenna's harness.

I'm curious though, why don't you need the antenna? Does the radio not pick up North American signals or something? I wired mine to a switch so I could control when the antenna was up and down if that's what you're looking for.

I dont require the antenna cause it has its own special type of digital radio one

there is a fuse but it cuts the security and also the inside light, will try find the wire and give it a snip
