Disable compass?

Hi,

The compass (NW, SW, NE, etc) on the rear view mirror annoys my wife when she is driving. Personally it does not bother me, but don't really find it useful.

A part from turning it off manually each time we start the car, is there any way to permanently disable it?

Nope, there is no way to disable the compass without losing the auto-dimming feature. (ie. disconnect the power).

you can probably replace it with different mirror or just cover it with electrical tape.

Gentex does make them without the compass.
