Cut the wires off of the sensor side so that you have the plug and two bare wires. Don't cut the wires on the harness side in case you want to go back to the OEM pads.

Twist your bare wires together (or better yet solder them) and plug in the cheater plug you just made. All you're doing is completing a circuit - the sensor used to complete it, but when it rubbed against the rotor it wore the "wire" through.

Remember that there's a sensor on both the RF and RR wheels.

I think on some of the later models it is one or the other, or in the case of both my 1995, none at all.

So, I assume the OEM Pads come with a new Sensor ?

OK thanks...

Yes. I usually have to do this cut-n-twist method while I'm ordering new pads from Joe.

Yes and no. Depends. Why it's always a good idea to order with your VIN, them IoS will know if your car has sensors, and at which ends.

Jow knows my two 1995 don't have sensors so sends me OEM pads without them. The first time he didn't though.

I order OEM pads from Joe and they always include the sensor. All I do is replace and everything is as it was designed. If you switch to different rotors and stuff you'll have to override it or if you use aftermarket pads.

Sometimes it's how you do the search. Try this:

Searh for BRAKE PAD WARNING

Choose archived content

Choose to search post bodies

this should give you plenty.

Then you are paying too much as the sensorless OEM pads are less.

Update:

Finished the front brakes yesterday and all is well...

Pulled the rear wheels this AM and removed the Left Side pads... Almost metal to metal...

On to the Right Side... I notice the pads are almost as thick as New pads... Humm... Went to loosen the top Pin and the Head broke off... OH NO!!!Seems the Pin has been frozen, and the caliper hasn't moved in a Coon's age... Soaked whats left of the Pin with PB Blaster... I'll try and get it out tomorrow... What a PITA.

Caliper seems OK, but I'm afraid the "Torque Member" is gonna be trashed... Jeeze...

Sorry, had to vent...

Got nearly the same problem. I think it's common if we don't clean and lube that caliper pin regularly.
